Web accessibility
What we are doing to keep this site usable for everyone, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Effective August 2026
The short version.
Plain English first. The numbered text below is the full version, and it is the one that governs — but this is the part most people need.
01
Our commitment
Oxnard Dental Office is committed to continuously improving access to our services for people with disabilities, including visitors who use screen readers, magnification, speech recognition, or keyboard-only navigation.
If you are unable to use any part of this website because of a disability, call us at (805) 486-6305, email marioamididmd@gmail.com, or use our contact page, and we will provide prompt assistance. That includes reading you anything on the site and taking your appointment request over the phone. Our team can help in English or Spanish — hablamos español.
02
The standard we are working toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 at Level AA — the benchmark most often referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.
We would rather be straight with you about where that stands. This is an ongoing effort, not a completed certification. No formal third-party conformance audit has been carried out, and parts of this site may not yet meet every Level AA success criterion. We fix what we find, and we treat anything a visitor reports as a priority.
03
What is built into this site
Steps taken so far include:
- A “skip to main content” link, so keyboard users can pass the navigation in one keystroke
- One ordered heading structure per page, so a screen reader can navigate by heading
- Visible focus outlines on every link, button, and form field
- Text and background colors checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alternatives for decorative ones so they are skipped rather than announced
- Form fields with real labels, and error messages tied to the field they belong to
- Layouts that reflow on small screens and when the page is enlarged
- A background animation that stops for visitors whose system asks for reduced motion
04
Adjusting your browser or device
Many barriers can be removed with settings already on your computer, phone, or tablet. The U.S. Social Security Administration publishes clear, vendor-neutral instructions:
- Increase text size (opens in a new tab)
- Use the keyboard to navigate screens (opens in a new tab)
- Have web pages read out loud (opens in a new tab)
- Magnify your screen (opens in a new tab)
- Change background and text colors (opens in a new tab)
- Make your mouse pointer easier to see (Windows) (opens in a new tab)
This site is built to cooperate with those settings: text resizes with your browser rather than being locked to a fixed size, and the layout reflows instead of breaking when the page is enlarged.
05
Screen readers, speech, and hearing
This site is built to work with the screen readers already in current operating systems and browsers — VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, Narrator on Windows, TalkBack on Android — as well as third-party readers such as NVDA and JAWS.
If a mouse is difficult, speech recognition can move you around a page and fill in a form by voice: Voice Control on Apple devices, Voice Access on Android, or Speech Recognition on Windows. Every link, button, and field on this site can also be reached with the Tab, Shift + Tab, Enter, and arrow keys alone.
If you are deaf or hard of hearing: this website carries no audio or video, so there is nothing here that needs captions. To reach the office without placing a voice call, use the appointment request form, or dial 711 for the free Telecommunications Relay Service and give the operator our number.
06
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site did not work for you, we want to hear about it — including when you are not sure whose fault it was. Tell us which page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened. If you know the browser or assistive technology you were using, that helps us reproduce it faster, but it is not required.
Call (805) 486-6305 during office hours, email marioamididmd@gmail.com, or use the contact page. Please leave health details out of any written message — our privacy policy explains why. We will acknowledge what you send and tell you what we are doing about it.
07
How to reach us
However you prefer to get in touch, we will meet you there. Call, use the contact form, or dial 711 for relay and give the operator our number.
